Langport Area Churches Together
Langport Area Churches Together covers a wide area , from Long Sutton in the east, through to Fivehead in the west.
Churches which are part of LACT include St Mary's Parish Church, Huish Episcopi, and all its associated benefice churches,
the Catholic church based in St Gildas Christian centre, the United Reformed Churches of Langport and Curry Rivel, rhe parish Church of St Andrew in Curry Rivel and its associated benefice churches, St Martins Church in Fivehead and Fivehead Baptist Church.

Clergy and lay members from each of the churches meet six times a year at St Gildas Christian Centre, Langport.

For more scenes from St Gildas, see the Gallery below this page.

LACT organises joint ecumenical services which take place around the district when there are five Sundays in a month,
organised by the host church, sometimes in the church premises and sometimes in larger venues such as village halls or school halls.

Recent services have been led by The Bishop of Clifton, Rev Tim Richards, Rev Carla Grosch-Miller (clergy trainer from Salisbury), a senior member of the national Baptist Church to name a few. A bring and share lunch is always organised after each service. Worship Groups and Choirs often take part, drawn from the area's churches.

Other Events:

LACT runs a Lent Course at St Gildas each year, plans a range of Easter Services and opportunities for witness (for example, Sunrise Service on Easter Day, Walk of Witness around Langport on Good Friday. We try to have a presence at local events such as the River Parrett Festival and the Christmas Market.
